If you are using articles to generate traffic to your site, then you should have experienced some degree of success. But there are a few things you could do to improve your chances of appearing on the first page of any search engine result that is connected to your keyword or keyword phrase.
1. Ensure when you are writing your articles that you include the keyword or keyword phrase several times within your article. It is vitally important that when you create your bio, that you insert a link that is live and clickable. When your article is submitted to the article directories, this link will create a back link to your website.
2. Spend some time optimizing certain pages of your website. If you wish, you can create a specific set of articles to be uploaded to your website, and you can use these for on-page optimization. Creating a new page once a month is a good idea. The on-page optimization will enable your website to be identified by the search engine robots and will tell the search engines precisely what your individual pages are about. The on-page optimization techniques involve using the keyword or keyword phrases in specific areas on your page. For example, you should use the keyword or keyword phrases in any description, content or heading on specific pages of your website. This will dramatically improve your chances of appearing on the first page of any search engine result.
3. Writing testimonials. There are many website owners who will gladly accept a testimonial from you, reviewing their products and services. When you write your testimonial, it is important that you include a link to your website. This could be in the form of your URL or a keyword-optimized link. This, again, will help with your search engine ranking.
4. Sign up and take part in specific forums. Whatever your particular niche is, there are bound to be hundreds of forums online to which you can register and take part. You can give advice, join in conversations or create questions to be answered. However you decide to take part on the forum, it is important that you leave your signature after any comment, question or answer. Your signature should contain the URL or website address, as the more websites that hold your URL, the more back links you would be creating.
